1,2-Pentanediol is a multifunctional and widely used cosmetic raw material. In addition to the moisturizing properties of diols, 1,2-pentanediol has antimicrobial and solubilizing properties. 1,2-Pentanediol also enhances the water resistance of sunscreen formulations. 1,2-Pentanediol also contributes to the appearance of emulsions when used in emulsion formulations and has a favorable skin feel.

1,2-Pentanediol can be used in a wide variety of skincare products, especially for sensitive skin, delicate skin such as infants and young children, and aged and dry skin, as well as in a variety of hair care products. 1,2-Pentanediol for personal care products is of high purity, colorless, odorless, and free of irritating impurities.
