What are the special requirements for the packaging and storage conditions of TBPB?

As an organic peroxide, TBPB (tert-butyl perbenzoate) has special requirements for its packaging and storage conditions to ensure its safety and stability.

1. Packaging requirements
Packaging material selection: The packaging material of TBPB needs to have good corrosion resistance and sealing properties to prevent it from reacting with moisture, oxygen or other chemicals in the air. Common packaging materials include plastic bottles, polyester barrels, etc., which can resist the oxidation of TBPB and effectively prevent leakage.
Packaging container specifications: TBPB is usually packaged in 25kg PE barrels (polyethylene barrels), which is convenient for transportation and storage, and also meets the requirements of relevant regulations and standards.
Packaging labeling: According to the labeling requirements for hazardous chemicals, the name, CAS number, molecular formula, hazard level, safety warning words and other information should be clearly marked on the packaging of TBPB to attract attention and take corresponding safety measures during transportation and use.

2. Storage conditions
Storage environment: TBPB should be stored in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, away from fire, heat sources, static electricity and other factors. The storage area should be equipped with appropriate firefighting equipment and leak emergency treatment equipment so that it can respond quickly in the event of an accident.
Temperature control: TBPB is extremely sensitive to temperature, as excessively high temperatures will accelerate its decomposition process. Therefore, the temperature of the storage environment must be strictly controlled within a low range, and it is usually recommended not to exceed 30°C (86°F), preferably between 15-25°C (59-77°F). Direct sunlight and high-temperature heat sources such as heaters, stoves, etc. should be avoided, as these may cause the temperature to rise. In summer or hot areas, additional cooling measures may be required, such as the use of air conditioning or ventilation equipment to keep the temperature of the storage area stable.
Humidity control: TBPB easily reacts with moisture in the air, so the humidity of the storage environment should be kept at a low level. It is usually recommended that the relative humidity should not exceed 60% to prevent moisture from entering the container. The humidity of the storage area can be reduced by using desiccants, dehumidifiers or proper ventilation.
Light control: TBPB should be kept away from direct sunlight, as ultraviolet rays in sunlight will accelerate its decomposition reaction. Therefore, the storage area should use shading materials or take other measures to reduce the light intensity.
Isolate other substances: During storage, TBPB should avoid contact with oxidizing substances such as ketones, amines, and acids to avoid dangerous reactions. At the same time, it should also avoid contact with reducing agents, metals and other substances, as these substances may trigger the decomposition reaction of TBPB.
Storage container management: The container for storing TBPB should be checked regularly to ensure that there is no leakage or damage. Once a leak or abnormal situation is found, the corresponding treatment measures should be taken immediately, such as replacing the container, cleaning up the leak, etc.
Storage period: TBPB will gradually decompose during storage, so its storage period should be paid attention to. According to the product instructions and actual conditions, determine a reasonable storage period and use it within the period.

TBPB has special requirements for packaging and storage conditions, and corresponding measures need to be taken to ensure its safety and stability. In terms of packaging, materials with good corrosion resistance and sealing should be selected, and relevant information should be clearly marked; in terms of storage, the temperature, humidity and light intensity of the storage environment should be controlled to avoid contact with other substances, and the status of the storage container should be checked regularly. Only in this way can the safety of TBPB during storage and use be ensured.
